April is here and we have a new blogger of the month!
Allow me to introduce you to Becca Welch who blogs over at Little Budget Beauty. Becca blogs all about makeup and skincare, but on the more affordable side of things. This is extremely helpful in a world full of crazy expensive beauty products!
Read on to learn more about Becca!
1. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging back in September of 2014 when I was still going to school at NCCC. I haven’t exactly been consistent since then. That was around the time that I truly fell in love with all things beauty related, and wanted to be able to share it with everyone I knew on a bigger scale.
2. What made you want to start blogging?
To be completely honest, I wasn’t in the happiest place and It was more of an emotional outlet for me. I was confused about school, and what I wanted to do. I didn’t really know myself yet, like I do now. In a way being able to express myself like that kind of helped me find out who I was.
3. What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
My favorite thing about being a blogger is interacting with my readers. As I continue to grow, that is one thing I will always focus on. It’s so fun talking with my readers through email and DM’s about my content, and it’s a huge reason I started in the first place. I wanted to create a space that we could chat about all things beauty.
4. How did you decide on your blog name?
Surprisingly, this was probably the easiest part about “rebranding” my blog. I wanted to change my blog to be more approachable. I wanted to focus on sharing products and content that the average consumer could relate to.
5. What do you love most about living in Buffalo?
Is everything an ok answer? There is so much to do, especially in the summer. I love how alive this city becomes when the weather starts to get nicer. I am super into concerts, and try to go to as many as possible. You will also catch me at all of the food festivals the city has to offer. (Taste of Buffalo = Life).
6. What’s your favorite local restaurant?
Aguacates, hands down. It is located on Elmwood Ave by Panera, and is the best and most affordable Mexican food. Their tamales are to die for. It just makes me want to like margaritas, you know what I mean?
7. What are your favorite seasonal activities?
My favorite season is Fall, so any activity that is offered during that season. I’m either there or, I want to be. I always think I want to move south because of the winters here in Upstate, NY but I don’t think I would be ok without the fall season. I love the mazes, the haunted hay rides, and apple picking.
8. What is your favorite neighborhood in the city?
Shoutout to the Westside!
I just recently moved over to the Westside about a year ago, and I truly do love it. There are tons of grocery stores, bars, and amazing restaurants on the come up. Also, it’s still super close to Elmwood Village, which is an obvious choice.
9. What are are a few of your favorite Instagram accounts that you follow?
@ssssamanthaa- A canadian beauty Youtuber that just actually might be my soulmate.
@blessthemessy- My cousin, who is a hand letterer from Rochester, for a boost of inspiration.
@mackenzies_table- A Rochester food blogger, who really is the cutest.
10. What advice would you give to people who would like to start a blog?
Just go for it. There were so many times that I held myself back from starting in the first place. Something that I have found to be so true, is that the only one in your way, is yourself. I have taken it upon myself to push my boundaries with my blog, and with meeting new people that are in the community and I don’t regret a single step I have taken in doing so. I have met some amazing people because of my blog, and I will always push people to just start. Thats the hardest part.
