Halloween is THIS WEEK and we are loving all things spooky and scary.

The folks over at Locked-Up Escape Games and the House of Horrors & Haunted Catacombs invited a few of us to check out their space and try our hand at one of the escape rooms.  Most of us had never experienced an escape room before, so we were super excited!!

The room that we decided to try was Escape the Serial Killer.  Being a true crime fanatic myself, I was SO ready for this.  Our host for the evening brought us into the staging area and gave us the run down of what would happen.  They explained the rules very thoroughly and then made us put all of our belongings in a bag which they then locked up for safe keeping.  That meant NO cellphones, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to snap any photos of what the escape rooms actually looked like, but let me tell you the attention to detail was insane!

Oh, and did I forget to mention that  they put bags over our heads to lead us into the escape room to start?  Yeah, black bags.  Needless to say we were terrified lol

But the big question is, did we escape the serial killer?

YES!  And with 11 minutes to spare!

What I loved most about this escape room was that we really had to work as a team to figure out the clues in order to move on to the next stage.  There were multiple rooms that we had to travel in to, which made it really interesting and pretty theatrical.  The crew over at Locked-Up Escape Games really put a lot of time and thought into this, and we had such a wonderful experience!!

After we survived the escape room, we thought what the heck, why not scare ourselves to death in some of the haunted houses.

You guys.  Seriously.  We cried.

If you like being scared, you will NOT be disappointed in the House of Horrors & Haunted Catacombs.  Insanely scary, kudos to the actors who are inside the haunted houses, because we were screaming the ENTIRE TIME.  The crew we were with went inside three of the houses, while I only went in two because I am a gigantic baby and couldn’t handle a third one.  No shame in admitting that!
